心理学家告诉我们，幸福是休闲娱乐和满意工作的完美结合。我的曾祖母有十四个孩子，以洗衣为生，很难相信她有多少空闲时间，或对工作有多满意。不过她的确有一个亲朋好友的圈子，还有家人，或许正是这些让她感到满足。如果说她因拥有的一切而感到幸福，可能是因为她压根就没指望生活有什么不同。
Psychologists tell us that to be happy we need a blend of enjoyable leisure time and satislying work. I doubt that my great-grandmother, who raised 14 children and took in washing, had much of either. She did have a network of close friends and family, and maybe this is what fulfilled her. If she was happy with what she had, perhaps it was because she didn＇t expect life to be very different.
