During the first nine months of 2006, paper and board production in Finland reached 10,6 million tonnes, a new record, However, this follows the dip of 2005, where both pulp and paper production fell 12 per cent compared to the previous year, reflecting tough trading conditions in just about all sectors. Pulp production last year amounted to 11.1 million tonnes, and total paper and board production was 12.39 million tones. Most of the country＇s paper output is printing and writing paper which fell 12 per cent in 2005 to 8.8 million tonncs, while papcrboard production was down by 11 per cent, to 2.5 million tonnes.
