Prospects on the Development Strategy and Management Model of World Forestry in the 21st Century

The management theory, development strategy and management models of various forests in the world are described, and the development tendency of world forests in the 21st Century is predicted in the study. It is estimated that the management theory of world forests in the 21st Century will be continuously accelerated, the theory of forest sustainable development will play the role for guidelining forest production. As a result, the development strategy of forest will be transferred, i.e. the forest′s development in the developed countries, will be implemented along with the sustainable development strategy, and the forest development in the developing countries will be transferred to the sustainable development strategy. At the same time, the rural forests will be improved. Forest management model will be focused on the diversity development. The existing three management models will be co existed and will be improved and promoted unceasingly under the guideline of theory of the forest sustainable development. The strategic arrangement of forest development in China are outlined as that the forest in the whole country should, on the basic of its characteristics, be stressed on the development strategy and management model of the multi benefits integrated management of forest according to the establishment of basis of forest ecology under the principle of forestry sustainable development. Under the guideline of all China forest development strategy, all different regions are reminded to develop forest development strategy and management model which aimed at dominant utilization characterized by forestry multi benefits. And as a result, a forest development strategy composed of various forest management models will be formed in accordance with Chinese distinctive features.
