An analysis of the word use by the Chinese learners of English is of crucial significance to the current classroom teaching practice nowadays. The analysis of the wrong word choice by college English learners suggests that the major sources in word choice are located in five aspects. The author points out that it is up to teachers to be facilitative, by providing remedial teaching, to help the learners formulate more accurate hypotheses and make better moderations in the actual language use.
