Social Capital,Education Investment,and Economic Growth: A Theoretical and Empirical Analysis

与社会学家不同,经济学家认为社会资本是一种资源配置方式,它能够弥补市场缺失、纠正市场失灵(特别是新市场失灵)。在教育投资信贷市场不完全情况下,社会资本是个人获得私人教育投资借款的一种方式,从而社会资本差异会导致私人教育投资支出、人力资本和经济增长的差异。为了开发人力资本和促进经济发展,必须努力提高我国的社会资本水平。

Different from sociologists,economists believe that social capital is a means of resources allocation that serves as remedies to address such problems as market absence and market failures,especially new market failures.When credit market is inadequate,social capital is a means by which individuals obtain private education loans,thus differences in social capital will result in differences in expenditure of private education investment,human capital and economic growth rates.Therefore,social capital in China must be improved.
