In literary works, most of the characters' names have certain connotations, which are extension ot the personalities of characters. A character's name generally reflects his/her personality, role and destiny. Translators should try to express the connotations of the original works in translation on the basis of total understanding and full grasp of those connotations. Generally, those connotations can be reproduced in translation, but the reproduction is kind of limited because of differences between English and Chinese languages and cultures.
