Many problems exist in the practical teaching for seaman competence certification training of engineering department, including the level of teacher＇s competence, training devices, etc. The organization and the implementation of practical teaching also need to be improved. Corresponding solutions are put forward in such aspects as textbook compiling, teaching methods, and examination and evaluation methods of engineering English listening.
