The Activex Data Object （ADO） connection model between AutoCAD and DataBase based on Object Oriented AutoCAD Runtime Extension （Object ARX） environment is introduced, the retrieval method for different formats in external engineering database is described. With the connection of database, engineering design software can provide powerful Graphic Resource and efficient management for the resource,and the resource platform for the users is greatly improved.
