摘要
"等效"理论是当代翻译理论研究的重要课题之一,自从20世纪80年代传入我国以来就是一个充满争议的研究课题。本文介绍了等效翻译的由来、产生的背景以及相关主张,提出了等效翻译可能性的理论基础,论述了等效翻译在应用中存在的局限性,并对等效理论在目前翻译中的价值提出了自己的看法。
＂Equivalent effect＂, one of the most prevailing concepts in contemporary theory of translation, has become a controversial topic among Chinese scholars since its introduction into China in the 1980s. This article presents an objective and comprehensive review of the researches on ＂equivalent effect＂ by tracing the development of its concept, theoretical foundation, content, principle, essence and its contribution to translation. Having considered its limitations, the article concludes that the theory still has its value in translation practice.
