Comparison Design of Digital Archives and Digital Libraries

数字档案馆中的资源是一种独特的信息资源，这部分的信息资源更多的是创造知识的源泉，所以不能简单的用信息利用率来衡量其信息价值。在数字图书馆中，更多的是可以重复利用的信息，我们将这种可重复利用的信息称为一种知识。信息的价值不同，是数字档案馆与数字图书馆所根本不同的，不以利用率为信息价值衡量标准是数字档案馆与数字图书馆在行业需求方面的一个根本的不同。数字档案馆更多的是提供档案的研究数据的价值，不是作为知识的本身，同时，档案是一种历史的见证，不应简单的以利用与淘汰来进行信息生命周期衡量。所以，数字档案馆的功能需求与数字图书馆在服务方面有很多本质的差别。同时，数字档案馆的标准化也比较薄弱，而数字图书馆很多的标准和规范无法简单的应用到数字档案馆。不过，数字图书馆设计和分析的方法对于数字档案馆的设计是有参考价值的。数字档案馆的投入远比数字图书馆要少，如何在需求、功能、成本中进行平衡在数字档案馆系统与数字图书馆系统实现中有所不同。

The resources in digital archives are special information resources, and they are the sources to create more knowledge. We can not simply measure the value of them from the use of information. But in the digital library, we regard the information which can be reused as knowledge. Digital archives and digital library has different needs, and that the knowledge of utilization is the source to create knowledge. Digital archives provide the value of research data, not knowledge itself, at the same time, the archives are kind of historical witness, they shouldn＇t be simply estimated as the use of information life cycle. Therefore, there are differences between the function demands of digital archives and digital library services. Meanwhile, the standardization of digital archives is weak, and many criterions for digital library can＇t be applied into digital archives. The design and analysis methods for digital library are valuable for the design of digital archives. Digital archives expend less funding than that of digital library, how to balance the requirements, functions and costs is also a difference between digital archives system and digital library system.
