Based on the discourse role switching theory of J.Thomas ,this article attempts ＂to analyze the discourse roles and their switching in filmic text as a dynamic process. It draws the conclusion that the discourse roles which a certain filmic character chooses and their switching play an important role in molding the social role of this character.
