Features and courses of develop on the 3 G mobile communications are briefed in this paper. The standard on TD-SCDMA put forward by our country and the smart antennas for mobile communication are minutely described. The concept and composes, principles and classification, functions and insufficiency, algorithms and realization of the smart antennas are deeply discussed. Final assumptions of beyond 3 G and 4 G or mobile communications are introduced.
