Objectives :To explore the application of EEG in patients with cranial trauma and comparison with CT. Methods:EEG and CT were examined in 160 cases with cranial trauma. Results: ( 1 ) EEG abnormal rate is 69.4% , In most cases slow waves increased, ( 2 ) EEG changes are related closely with degree of cranial trauma. The more serious the trauma is the higher EEG abnormal rate. (3) In light and middle cases of cranial trauma EEG abnormal rate is higher than CT, and most are changes of function brain but isn't structural changes. However, in serious cases with cranial trauma EEG and CT abnormal rates are not very different. Conclusions: EEG might be of certain value in the evaluation of the degress and prognosis of cranial trauma and treatment.
