在汉语、乃至以汉语为核心的中国文化走向世界,从而为人类文明做出贡献的过程中,有必要认真厘清"文明"与"文化"之间的辩证关系:文明是文化的内在价值,文化是文明的外在形式,文明的内在价值通过文化的外在形式得以实现,文化的外在形式借助文明的内在价值而有意义。"全球化"的历史进程,既是人类文化不断提高其内在的文明总量的过程,也是人类文明不断减少其外在的文化差异的过程。在这一过程中,自觉地总结汉语、乃至中国文化的利弊得失,不仅可以为人类文明做出贡献,而且有利于民族语言的进步和中国文化的发展。

We should sum up the pros and cons of the chinese language even those of the chinese culture consciously, because it can not only make a contribution to human civilization, but can promote the progress of our national language and the development of Chinese culture as well.
