摘要
《金瓶梅》全书100回,而英译本却只有49章。译者在选择时遵循的是"重在首尾,兼顾中间"原则,对人物姓名的翻译,译者使用了双重标准:"男音女意",章回标题的翻译基本上做到了"得意不忘形",熟语、习语的翻译则是"异化"为主。
Jin Ping Mei has 100 chapters in the original but its English version has only 49.In selecting what to translate,the translator＇s emphasis is on the two ends（beginning and end）,while not neglecting the middle part.In character name translation,bouble standard is adopted.In rendering chapter titles into English,the translator tries to strike a balance between form and content.And ＂foreignization＂ is used in translating popular sayings and idioms.
