On Allience of Nian Army and Taiping Army against Qing Dynasty from 1857 to 1858

对1857年3月至1858年5月捻军与太平军在两淮地区的联合抗清行动进行考察,认为两军走上联合抗清之路出于各自摆脱困境的现实需要;联合壮大了抗清实力,取得了正阳关之战的胜利;联合具有功利性,军事行动不能协调一致,没有达成预期战略目标。

Investigate the action from the March 1857 to the May 1858 when the Nian Army and the Taiping Amy allied together and fought against the Qing Dynasty,conclude that the alliance is to resolve their respective difficulties;strengthen the power and help succeed in the battle of Zhengyangguan;and it is of utilitarianism,thus the action cannot be coordinated and does not achieve the strategic objective.
