An integrated computer network for outpatient and emergency services through the application of FOXPRO 2.5 FOR DOS languages is here introduced. The mirror language is used between two network servers. The input of out patient numbers in accomplished by the use of light pen and barcode technology. The integration of cost assessment and payment is carried out by the star topology network to insure the advancedness, safety, stability and expansibility of the network. The whole close loop process of registration, pricing and payment reception, the making up of prescription, drug use and control, workload statistics and economic accounting is performed by the network. which effectively stops the administrative and financial loopholes and upgrades the management level. The network has been in operation for 12 months and has obtained a provincial certificate for scientific and technological achievement.
