The oxidation and spontaneous ignition of coal stockpiles is a nuisance which could cause severe economic and energy losses. It is an effective and economical way to predict the temperature trend of coal stockpiles by establishing a mathematical simulation model and forming a computer program, thereafter to apply timely the relevant and effective counteract methods. The paper modifies and implements a two dimensional mathematical model, adopts the Peaceman Rachford computing method which has the merits of stable convergence and less computing time, and presents a pragmatic computer program for above mentioned purpose. It is shown that the computation results have good agreement with the data measured from a real coal stockpile.
