过去十年中，铁路列车用涡流制动器技术在欧洲的应用得益于德国高速铁路的发展。与传统的制动器配合使用，涡流制动器能够提供高可靠性和高安全性。此外，由于欧洲铁路的高速互通性，涡流制动器已经作为在列车上的标准装配，比如德国城际快车3（ICE-3）。
Eddy-current brakes for rail carriages in are a spin-off technology in Europe from the development of high ,speed trains in Germany in the past decade. Acting in concert with conventional brakes, eddy-current units offer high degrees of reliability and safety. And as European railways attain high-speed interoperability, eddy-current brakes are being fitted as standard on trains such as Germany＇s InterCity Express-3 （ICE-3）.
