In order to investegate the relationship between hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE) and microcirculatory disorder, auricular microcircualtion chnages of 21 cases of newborns with HIE were observed on admission and after complex treatment. The results showed that in early stage of HIE patients, both microvessel deformity rate and RBC aggregation rate were remarkably higher than those in the control group. And blood flow velocity in venule were significantly slower in patients than that in the control group. After complex treatment, both RBC aggregation rate and blood flow velocity in venule of auricular microcirculation in HIE newborns were markedly improved, but microvessel deformity improvements were not remarkable. As a result, it suggest that there are marked microcirculatory disorder in early stage of HIE patients. It also suggest that auricular microcirculation observation may in a way reflect the state of the brain microcirculation, and sooner or later recovery of the auricular microcirculatory disorder could to some extent judge the prognosis in HIE patients.
