归化和异化:两种相辅相成的翻译方法

Domestication and Foreignization:Two Complement Methods in Translation

归化和异化的争论由来已久。本文回顾并分析了我国翻译界就这两种翻译方法争论的历史,指出是用偏向归化的译法还是异化的译法要受多种因素的影响。本文认为,译者应根据翻译内容的具体情况灵活掌握,既可采用归化译法也可采用异化译法,或将两者有机结合的方法。但随着全球经济一体化进程和文化交流的深入,异化翻译法将是总的趋势。

As two major translation techniques, foreignization and domestication have long been the focus of the debate in translation filed. This paper gives a general review of the study of domestication and foreignization in the last two decades in China, and points out translation strategies are affected by different factors. It also points out foreignization is the general trend with the progress of the economic globalization and intercommunications among different cultures.
