On Marxism's Theory on Political Power

马克思主义权力观的核心话语在于,无产阶级执政党要想实现自己的历史使命,就必须掌握政权;权力不是从来就有的,是随着社会的发展而产生的;权力是一种社会现象,但首先表现为是一种政治现象;权力是人民赋予的;权力不等于权威,所以,无产阶级执政党要提高执政能力,提高领导效能,就需要不断扩大权威而不是扩大权力。

The utterance at the core of Marxism＇s theory on political power lies in the fact that the proletarian party in power has to get hold of the power in order to realize its historical mission. Political power is not naturally born, but born along with the development of production. It is a social phenomenon represented, first of all, as a political phenomenon. It is given by the people. It is not equal to authority. Therefore, the proletarian party in power has to increase its authority rather than its power so as to enhance its ability to wield state power and to elevate its efficiency.
