孟门方位刍议

Talk about Location of "Meng Gate"

上古文献记载大禹治水率先开凿疏浚的"孟门",一说在山西吉县与陕西宜川间黄河夹岸的壶口,一说在山西柳林与陕西吴堡间黄河夹岸的孟门渡口。其实,两处皆黄河中游最典型的山陕峡谷地带,其地形地貌称"孟门"都可谓惟妙惟肖。作为传说历史,均可求同存异充分弘扬与开发。

Ancient documents recorded that Great Yu first cut and dredged ＂Meng Gate＂ before he regulated rivers.Some people said that ＂Meng Gate＂ was at Hukou which was located at the Huanghe River bank between Jixian,Shanxi and Yichuan,Shaanxi.Others said that it was at Mengmen Ferry which was located at the Huanghe River bank between Liulin,Shanxi and Wubao,Shaanxi.As a matter of fact,both the two places are typical Shan-Shaan canyon regions in Guanghe River middle reaches.Their topographies are both lifelike when called ＂Meng Gate＂.As legends,they can seek common ground while reserving differences. Both of them can be fully carried forward and developed.
