How could the Seventeen Years of Literature enter the history of the contemporary Chinese literature？. The primary issue is whether this period of the literature has the value of literature history. Many works so far have taken ＂literature autonomy＂ as the criterion and denied its history value, which is not scientific. For my understanding, the Seventeen Years＇ Literature has important value of literature history. In fact, an attempt to ＂rewrite＂ this period of literature has resulted from its rejection of the ideology in question, not the relevant facts. But the ideological replacement is concerned with a selection of the texts. The criterion is the social influences of the relevant works, and the right way is to start from the basic facts so as to recover the historical context and discard the idea of dual opposition and casual imagination.
