This paper is intended to explore the art of characterization in Joyce＇ s Ulysses, and discuss his experiment and innovation in facilitating the transformation of the character. The paper not only expounds Joyce＇ s modernist concept of the character through the analysis of the three main characters of the novel, but also examines their artistic role, narrative function and three-dimensional feature.
