“Rectifying the name” was the basic requirement for the establishment of a disciplinary. The definition and scope of the revision and compilation was a controversial topic since the mid-Qing Dynasty. It became more prominent in the first half of the 20th century, and then it became an academic legacy？ This paper displayed the whole picture of the history of academic topic in this historical stage through the collation and discrimination of academic perspective of each school in the first half of the 20th century.
