Structural features of several different modifications of Al-Co-Ni decagonal quasicrystals revealed by HAADF-STEM technique

摘要 结合扫描电镜X射线能谱仪得到的成分信息和透射电镜选区电子衍射得到的结构信息,确定了经过不同热处理得到的Al-Co-Ni合金中十次准晶的六种不同的变体(b-Ni、b-Co、S1、typeⅠ、typeⅡ和5f)。利用原子分辨率的高角环形暗场像(HAADF)技术主要研究了三个变体(typeⅠ、typeⅡ和5f)的二维准周期平面的结构。发现对于typeⅠ和typeⅡ两种变体,3.2nm直径的十边形原子柱的准单胞团簇比2nm直径的准单胞更合适,准单胞中心0.76nm范围内原子分布无序。同时发现typeⅡ变体的二维准晶格主要由菱形和五边形拼砌组成,相当于typeⅠ和S1两种变体的二维晶格的混合。更高分辨率的HAADF显示5f变体的2nm直径准单胞团簇中原子排列具有五次和十次两种对称,对应地得到两种原子模型;第一性原理计算表明弛豫后的五次对称的原子模型比十次的原子模型能量上更有利。  Six modifications of Al-Co-Ni decagonal quasicrystals were prepared and further characterized by EDS and SAED.Atomic-resolution HAADF-STEM technique was used to reveal the quasi-periodical structural features of type Ⅰ,type Ⅱ and 5f modifications.Furthermore,the atomic models for 5f modification were given by combining the HAADF imaing and the ab-initio total energy calculation.
