清代广东盐商通过经营盐业积累一定财富后,往往会采取"捐输"的形式来回报社会。纵观其捐输和卤本生息的流向,主要用于军饷、缉私、捕盗经费、育婴堂等地方公益事业等方面,在一定程度上维护了地方社会秩序的安全和资助了地方公益事业。
