Lin Shu and His Donglingzhongguatu

林纾（1852-1924年）,字琴南,号畏庐,别署冷红生。晚年改号蠡叟、践卓翁等,福建闽县（今福州）人。他博学强记,能诗、能文、能画,光绪八年（1882年）中举,历任家乡苍霞精舍、杭州东城讲舍、京师金台书院、京师大学堂教席,1914年任北京《平报》总编。平生以译书为业,以译外国小说一百八十余种著称于世,是我国著名的文学家、翻译家、国画家。但其画名多为书名所掩,一生创作了大量书画,与姜筠并称为“南林北姜”,是海上名家之一。

This paper focuses on the painting Donglingzhongguatu, which was drawn by Lin Shu and present to Jin Xihou, and describes the intercourses between Lin Shu and Jin Xihou and life and thoughts of Qing dynasty survivals after the Revolution of 1911. It was drawn in 1917 and is now collected in Huai’an Museum, Jiangsu Province.
