On Discrimination of Yellow Gemstone Imitating Emerald

翡翠一直以它独有的魅力征服着消费者,自古就有“红翡绿翠”之说,绿色的翠色从吸收光谱650nm宽带可判定其为染色;而“翡”色,一直是鉴定中的难题。“翡”色,是次生作用形成的颜色,在风化作用下,翡翠的Fe^2＋变成Fe^3＋,形成赤铁矿或褐铁矿,红翡多为玉石的表皮部分,黄翡位于红翡之上,更加贴近表皮,由褐铁矿浸染为主而形成“黄雾”。多数黄翡混浊不纯,常带褐色,不够透,通常将黄翡加热可以形成深红或鲜红色调的红翡。

In recent years, there are many green products imitating emerald and it is easy to distinguish them. But it is comparatively more difficult to distinguish yellow gemstone imitating emerald. This paper introduces some discrimination methods.
