During the study session of the Chinese Communist Party＇s Central Committee Political Bureau on August 28, President and Chairman of the Central Committee Hu Jintao made a speech pushing for the acceleration of financial and banking reform in China. His comments came two weeks after China Everbright Bank said it would be receiving a RMB 20 billion （USD 2.7 billion） cash injection from the government, marking the beginning of the final round of major bank recapitalizations.
