论中国传统文化对中国近代科技的作用

Influence of Chinese Traditional Culture on the Science and Technology of Modern Times

中国是有着悠久历史的世界文明古国之一,15世纪的明代中叶以前,中国的科技都远远领先于同时期的世界其他各国,中国的四大发明对世界历史影响巨大。16世纪开始,以英国为代表的西方国家相继通过工业革命发展了科技,而中国的科技却从此时开始停滞不前,开始了远远落后于西方的历史。笔者不赞同认为中国传统文化阻碍中国近代科技的观点,并从中国传统文化的含义、特点及精神实质及其价值方面进行了分析。

China is one of the ancient civilizations in the world, before the middle of Ming Dynasty in the 15th century, Chinese science and technology were much more advanced than other contemporary countries, with the great influence of the Four Great Inventions on the history of the world. But since the 16th century, western countries with Britain as the representative, has developed science and technology through Industrial revolution while China came to a halt and began to be far behind western countries. The author does not agree with the idea that Chinese traditional culture hinders the development of science and technology in modem times and analyzes it from the concept, characteristics and spiritual essence of Chinese traditional culture.
