Acute liver failure （ALF） is a syndrome with various etiological factors, complicated pathophysiologic changes, critical clinical manifestation and high mortality. Treatment of ALF comprises the treatment of etiological factors, maintenance of hemodynamics and homeostatic equilibrium, protection of vital organ function, artificial liver support and liver transplantation. Combined modality treatment used early will improve the prognosis effectively.
