词汇是语言的三大要素(语音、词汇、语法)之一,是语言的基本材料,离开词汇就无法表达思想。词汇教学是英语教学的重点之一。英语教师可以通过英语释义、语境、游戏和谜语等方法和手段教词汇,激发学生的学习兴趣和积极性,提高英语教学质量。

Vocabulary is one of three elements （ pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar） of alanguage, and the base of the language . One can hardly to express himself without using vocabulary. Therefore teaching vocabulary is of importance in English teaching. It is helpful fora teacher to have a repertoire of techniques, such as using visual aids, context, games and riddles, to achieve an effective teaching.
