南朝时期,文集的编撰空前兴盛,这些文集的编撰可以说是南朝人对文体分类的一种实践,体现了南朝人在文体分类上的某些共同思维特点,其中以《文选》的文体分类最有代表性。从《文选》的文体分类来看,南朝的文体分类主要体现了两个思维特点。一是唯题是从,二是约定俗成,也有二者交织的情况。这两种思维方式都显示出南朝文体分类重名轻实的倾向,同时又充满中国哲学的传统思维特色,幼稚中不乏深奥,粗陋中也显精妙,符合最简单的往往是最经典的道理。

Editing collected works flourished in The Southern Dynasties. It is a kind of practice of the people of the Southern Dynasties in the field of genre classification, displaying some common peculiarities of their thinking. Anthology edited by Xiao Tong is the representative in all the collected works at that time. Studying the genre classification of Anthology, we can find two thought peculiarities of the Southern Dynasties in the course of categorizing the type of writing. One is relying on the title of works and the other is following popular usage, and there are cases of the two interweaving. The two thought peculiarities indicate that the editors of the Southern Dynasties emphasize the format but not the content when categorizing works, and the mode of thinking embodies the features of traditional thinking. Puerile and abstruse, crude and exquisite, they conform to the principle of the simplest being the most classical.
