A Hybrid Architecture for Large-scale VOD Streaming Delivery

摘要 提出一种支持代理缓存补丁和P2P机制的混合型VOD流分送体系结构及协议P3C.P3C由核心网和P2P网两级网络组成.核心网由稳定的具有缓存功能的代理服务器和主干链路组成,P2P网络由大量具有缓存和补丁功能的客户端组成.通过代理、缓存、补丁和P2P的有效结合,P3C可以使用户最大限度的共享VOD流,从而使得大规模VOD流的实时传输具备了较好的可扩展性和服务质量,同时极大的降低了源流媒体服务器的压力. This paper proposes a hybrid VOD streaming architecture called P3C which is a two -level overlay network architecture composed of core network and P2P network. Core network is composed of reliable caching proxies and backbone whereas P2P network is composed of a large number of clients with caching and patching ability. It is shown that, by caching, patching and peering, P3C provides clients the most possibility of sharing VOD streaming and it is a scalable and good QoS architecture for large - scale VOD streaming deployment.
