Commentary Revision of the Western Economic Growth Theory

围绕着对经济增长核心因素的研究,西方经济增长理论经历了一条由"物"到"人"的演进道路。从确立劳动在经济增长中的工具地位到崇尚物质资本积累的资本决定论,再从重视技术进步的作用到强调以人的素质为中心的知识、技术和人力资本的积累,清晰地勾勒出了一条在工业化进程中,对经济增长源泉认识逐渐深化的发展轨迹。而在西方经济增长理论发展的历程中,技术进步的地位和作用也发生了很大的改变。

On the research of the core factors of the western economic growth, the theory has experienced an evolution from ＂objects＂ to ＂man＂, from establishing the position of labour in economic growth to advocating the accumulation capital, and from enphasizing the role of technological advancement to focusing knowledge,technology and the capital accumulation of manpower, which has traced the development of economic growth in the period of industrializaton. The position and effect of technology advancement has changed a lot during the development of western economic theory.
