建议江苏采用和摒弃的地层单位名称

A Proposal on Adopting and Disregarding Stratigraphic Units in Jiangsu Province

《江苏地层清理项目组》以现代地层学理论为指导，经３年的工作，搜集了江苏１００多年来大量的晚太古代至第三纪地层资料。以岩石地层为主导，从近３００个地层单位名称中，经筛选，建议使用１０４个正式岩石地层单位和４个非正式岩石地层单位。

Over the last three years,Jiangsu Stratigraphic Examination Group has collected a large number of stratigraphic data from Late Paleozoic era to the Tertiary period for over 100years.Prepared from 300 names of stratigraphic units,104 formal and 4 informal rock stratigraphic units have been proposed.The Group has also suggest the reasons for disregarded 168 names of stratigraphic units and discards a part of stratigraphic names and put forward reasonable proposals for the unity of stratigraphic unit names in geologic investigation.The examination work is very necessary for the integrating Jiangsu stratigraphic names to offer some new explanation.Therefore,more convenience and rational stratigraphic names will be obtained in the stratigraphic classification and contrast in Jiangsu.
