Multinational Corporations' R&D Investment in China:A New Impetus to the Development of Chinese Economy and Technology

近十年来,跨国公司遵循其全球化、系统化发展的战略,利用在中国进行技术研发的低成本结构、丰富的智力资源,纷纷在华设立研发机构,获取中国的市场和技术信息,加快新技术和新产品的研发。跨国公司在华研究机构的形式主要有三种形式,即设立独资研发中心或技术开发中心、在企业内部设立研发部门、与中国的大学及科研机构合作成立研究中心,主要集中于北京、上海地区的通讯和计算机产业。跨国公司在华研发需要应对诸如研发人员管理、知识产权保护和中国的制度政策等问题。对中国的经济技术的发展而言,跨国公司在华R&D投资的快速增长既是前所未有的机遇,也是严峻的挑战。

In recent 10 years,according to the global and systematic developing strategy,multinational corporations use the low cost structure and rich intellective resources of technologic R＆D in China and set up R＆D organizations to obtain the information of Chinese market and technology and promote the R＆D of new technology and products.There are three types of multinational corporations＇ R＆D organization in China,which are mono-venture R＆D centers,R＆D departments in enterprises and R＆D centers cooperated with Chinese universities and institutions.They mainly exist in the industries of telecom and computer in Beijing and Shanghai.Multinational corporations＇ R＆D organizations have to deal with many problems,such as R＆D employees＇ management,knowledge property protection and Chinese institutes and policy,etc.As for the development of Chinese economy and technology,the rapid increase of multinational corporations＇ R＆D investment in China is both an infrequence opportunity and a serious challenge.
