党的先进性是指政党这样一种政治集团与其它政治集团和群体组织相比所具有的优势特征,是党在组织上的内在结构和本质,特别是动员民众、管理社会、执掌政权等方面体现出的一种基本性质、性能和性状。中国共产党的先进性具体表现为“三个代表”。党执政能力的加强和提高依赖于“两个基础”的增强与扩大,而保持党的先进性则是其根本所在。
