摘要
本文综述了英语作为第二语言或外语的写作认知心理过程研究,涉及二语写作总体过程、写作能力和二语写作过程的关系、母语写作与二语写作过程的比较、母语和翻译在二语写作过程中的作用、学习策略与二语写作过程、中国学生的二语写作过程等。对比分析了相关研究在研究内容、方法设计、研究结果、概念界定等方面的异同,并在此基础上总结了二语写作过程研究在地域、语言、方法等领域的特点及规律。文章最后指出:二语写作研究的发展存在明显的“波纹现象”;有关外语写作过程的研究还有待全方位加强.二语写作领域存在的矛盾性问题还需要更多的研究进行验证并加以解决.
This paper reviews previous studies on the ESL/EFL writing processes. Respectively, it describes and evaluates studies on the general pattern of the L2 writing process, the relationship among linguistic proficiency, writing ability and L2 writing, the comparison of writing processes in L1 and in L2, the use of the mother tongue and translation in the L2 writing process, learning strategies and the L2 writing process, and the writing processes of Chinese ESL/EFL learners. Based on the discussion concerning research focus, methodology, results and findings, and some key concepts, this paper concludes that there has been a "wave phenomenon" in the studies of the L2 writing process, from the geographical, linguistic and methodological points of view. h finally points out that more studies should he conducted to solve the contradictions within the field of L2 writing process studies, and to broaden and strengthen the explorations into the writing process of EFL learners in different contexts.
