根据GB 7588-2003第922条关于安全系数的定义，计算出钢丝绳的安全系数，并设定为Sq，它与钢丝绳强度有关，附录N的公式规定了钢丝绳的安全系数Sf，它与钢丝绳寿命有关，任何情况下必须保证Sq≥Sf≥Smin，Smin为第922条规定的最小安全系数，它与电梯系统配置有关。同时讨论了改善钢丝绳安全系数的措施，以及这些措施对电梯系统的影响。
According to GB 7588-2003 Safety rules 9.2.2 definition, the calculated rope safety factor is Sq, it relates to breaking load of the rope. According to Annex N, the rope safety factor is Sf, it relates to rope lifetime. The formula Sq≥ Sf≥ Smin should be fulfilled. Smin in is defined in 9.2.2（it changes for different lift systems）. The measure improving rope safety factor and its the affection to elevator systerm is discussed in this paper.
