图书馆尤其是公共图书馆的职能经历了早期的私有重藏、近代的共享公用,发展到现代,随着计算机技术、通讯技术和网络技术的发展,在公众信息服务、信息资源的开发利用和整合重组以及公共教育等方面,公共图书馆的职能又得到了新的提升和转变。本文系统研究了新时期公共图书馆服务职能在以上各个方面的新特征,以唤起人们对公共图书馆的关注。

Library,especially public libraries＇ function has undergone great changes. In the early period, it was privately owned and attached importance to collection, while in modern times, public library was for public use. At present, with the development of computer, communication and network technology, public library has been promoted and transformed in the respect of public information service, information resource exploitation, integration and public education. This article makes systematic research on new features of public libraries＇ service function on the above aspects.
