摘要
根据数学定义和物理意义,阐明了构造地质学中常用的应力椭球体和应变椭球体的定义,提出了变形椭球体的概念,并讨论了上述三种椭球体之间的关系,限定了它们的应用范围:应力椭球体、应变椭球体和变形椭球体分别反映的是应力的大小、应变状态和变形特征,应主要用变形椭球体来解释构造地质现象。
Based on the definition of mathematics and the physical meaning, weexpounded the concept of three ellipsoids; stress, strain and defor mationellipsoids in structure geology. We considered that the strain ellipsoidapplied to structure geology should be the meaning of the deformationellipsoid. In this paper we discussed tbe relation among three ellipsoidsand their application limits.
