文化即是人类的精神创造物,修辞是增强言辞或文句效果的艺术手法,翻译是将一种语言用另一种语言表达出来的一种实践活动。作为高年级英语学习,特别是对"高级英语"的学习,文化、修辞、难句翻译是"高级英语"学习过程中不可回避的三个问题。文章试图从文化、修辞对"高级英语"教材中难句翻译的影响,说明文化、修辞与难句翻译是"高级英语"学习中的三大主要困难。

Culture is the creation of human＇ s spirit. Rhetoric is an artistic method to enhance the effect of the use of language or diction. Translation is a kind of practice that expresses the meaning of one language by using another language. As English learning for junior students, esp. those who learn Advanced English, culture, rhetoric and translation of difficult sentences are three problems that cannot he avoided in the course of learning Advanced English. My thesis focuses on the influence of culture and rhetoric upon the translation of difficult sentences in Advanced English to explain that culture, rhetoric and translation of difficult sentences are tlwee major difficulties in learning Advanced English.
