On the Two approaches to Denominal Verbs

名词动用有在词汇层面上的研究和在动核层面上的研究。两个层面的研究构成名词动用研究的两个主要阶段。不同层面有不同的研究重心和研究特点。词汇层面研究以形式分析和现象描述为重,动核层面研究以语义语用和认知解释为重,突出语言的体验性和语境相关。通过对这两个层面上研究内容、特点、问题等的梳理,认为今后要在继续重视名词动用的语料描写的同时更多地解释其工作原理和规律,在共时研究的同时加强历时研究。

There are two approaches to denominal verbs： the lexical appocah and the nucleus one. The two approaches are equal to the two stages in the study of denominal verbs. Each approach possesses its own focus and features. On the lexical approach, it is focused on formal analysis and phenomena description while on the nucleus approach, it is focused on semantic and pragmatic processes, together with cognitive explanation. Embodiment and context are thus emphasized. This paper discusses these two approaches about their contents, features, contributions and problems, and concludes that we should attach importance to descriptive adequacy, deepen our analysis and explanation when contrasting materials from different languages. Furthermore, consciously working with evidence from other cognition- related subjects would be beneficial to understanding denominal verbs.
