《六朝通鉴博议》浅说

An Explanation of an Extensive Comment on a Chronological History of the Six Dynasties

《六朝通鉴博议》是出自南宋史学大家李焘之手、而在后世又较受冷遇的一部史评类著作。《博议》之受冷遇,或与其应世性质太过明显、缺乏考辩钩沉有关。然而立足当今,《博议》对读者感触中国传统史学的褒贬鉴戒,理解中国历史上南北对立时代的史实,体会六朝京都的自然与人文形势,仍是颇多助益。至于《博议》的精旨要义,特别值得提出者三点,即解释了六朝"终不能混一区夏"的原因,指出了东晋南朝能够与十六国北朝对抗的缘故及其意义,作者寄望于为南宋朝廷提供龟鉴。

An Extensive Comment on a Chronological History of the Six Dynasties by Li Tao,who was a renowned historian in the Southern Song Dynasty,is a work of historical criticism but has been left in the cold by the later generations.This is due to the fact that the book has too obvious pragmatism and lacks textural research.However,this book is of benefit to the readers＇ understanding of the traditional Chinese historical criticism,their knowledge of the historical fact of the confrontation between the south and the north during the Six Dynasties and natural and cultural status of the former capital city.In terms of the major points in an Extensive Comment on a Chronological History of the Six Dynasties,three of them are worth mentioning： firstly,the reason why the Six Dynasties were incapable of unifying the country;secondly,the reason why the Southern Dynasty during the Eastern Jin Dynasties were able to confront the sixteen states of the Northern Dynasty and its significances;thirdly,the writer＇s attempt to provide historical references for the imperial government of the Southern Song Dynasty.
