摘要
大多数教师与研究者都同意词源知识对英语词汇的教与学是有积极作用的,且对如何进行词源教学进行了探讨,但是到底有多大的作用一直没有作过定量研究。以六级词汇为范围,通过10%的样本分析得出了一些很有参考价值的数据,并在此基础上提出了词汇教学中词源教学的相应策略。
Most teachers and researchers agree that knowledge about etymology is helpful to English vocabulary learning and teaching, and they have considerable discussions about how to teach vocabulary using etymology. But how much on earth is the function of etymology knowledge in vocabulary teaching and learning has not yet been counted or measured in quantitative ways. This paper uses Band 6 vocabulary as the probing area and draws 10% from the vocabulary list as samples to analyze and finally gets some valuable data and results. Based on the analysis, further strategies about vocabulary teaching using etymology .are suggested.
