绍兴有悠久的商业文化传统,但历史上没有出现过大规模的商人群体。改革开放以后,绍兴涌现了一大批成就事业的绍兴商人,人们称之为越商。作为浙商的一支劲旅,越商以其雄厚的实力和可持续发展受到世人的关注。越商的成功,有其深刻的社会历史根源,传统的越文化所富含的商业文化基因,改革开放的制度都是促成越商崛起的重要因素,但关键的原因还是浸透着越文化精神的越商所具有的炽热的企业家精神。越商群体所体现出来的精神气质,既有企业家精神的共性,又深深地带上了越文化的印记,具有鲜明的个性。

Though Shaoxing has the long commercial cultural tradition in history, large scale of merchants＇ group never appear. After reforming and opening, a lot of successful Shaoxing merchants whom we call Yue merchants appear in Shaoxing. As one of important sector of Zhe- jiang merchants, Yue merchants attain more and more attention by people because of their rich strength and sustainable development. The success of Yue merchants has its own profound social and historical root. And there are also many important factors such as commercial ingredients from traditional Yue culture and the system of reforming and opening,which are helpful to the success of Yue merchants. But the critical factor is the fiery entrepreneurship of Yue merchants who knows the soul of Yue culture very well. The soul of Yue merchants not only possesses the common traits of entrepreneurship but also has its own characteristic which deeply impressed by Yue culture.
