Kang Youwei's Thought on Treaty Abrogation

修约、废约运动在西方列强统治中国的一百多年间,经历了艰难曲折的历程。在这一历程中,近代著名社会活动家康有为在揭露不平等条约制度给中国带来深重灾难的基础上,积极主张修约、废约,提出了一些废约办法。其废约思想既闪烁着爱国主义的思想光芒,也反映了维新思想家的思想局限性,折射出近代中国内政外交的困境。

The movements of treaty modification and abrogation have come through ups and downs during one hundred years of reign by western great powers. In the process, Kang Youwei, famous social activist, advocated actively treaty modification and abrogation and put forward some ways of treaty abrogation. His thought of treaty abrogation glittered the rays of light of patriotism, and also reflected the limitations of reform thinker and plight of interior and exterior as well.
